     Hypnotherapy has been accepted by the medical profession and the field of behavioral sciences since the late 1950’s.

     Hypnosis is a completely safe and naturally occurring phenomenon in human beings. It can be used as a very powerful and effective tool in bringing about change in an incredible number of ways. As research continues, the uses of hypnosis are being explored, and new applications of this amazing ability of ours are steadily increasing.  Hypnosis has been proven to be a successful method for helping people in changing their lives in a variety of ways.

Hypnotherapy     Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of attention. In fact we all go in and out of hypnosis everyday. Hypnosis utilizes the power of the subconscious. The subconscious is that part of our brain where our habits are stored. If we had to think about everything we did all day long we would not be able to get anything done. Our brain stores our habits in the subconscious so that we are free to think and act on those things that are important to us. We don’t have to tell our heart to beat or our feet to walk. Those acts are performed by the subconscious.  Have you ever been driving your car on the freeway and when you come to your exit you can’t remember the last five miles?  That is a state of hypnosis.  Have you ever had to get up at a certain time in the morning and when that time comes you get up?  You essentially gave yourself a hypnotic suggestion and your subconscious woke you at the proper time.

     Since your subconscious is where your habits are stored and since hypnosis works with the subconscious, the method is perfect for removing bad habits and developing new ones.Hypnotherapy

     Although hypnosis is a natural state, in everyday life we tend to go in and out of hypnosis at random.  In hypnotherapy sessions you work with the therapist to move into that state when you want to. Usually through a relaxation technique, the therapist will help you access your subconscious and then will give you positive suggestions that will allow you to attain your goals, be they losing weight, stop smoking or other negative bad habits that you would like to be rid of.  Further, through the use of positive suggestions the  therapist can help you increase self esteem and empower you to move forward with any other, more positive goals you may have.

     Hypnotherapy is totally safe. Although there are misconceptions about hypnosis, you are always in control and you will always know where you are.  Your conscious mind is merely relaxed.  In fact you will probably be more relaxed than you have ever been.
